Aja Restaurant’s Latin Night – Atlanta venue review

Share

aja latin danceAja Restaurant and Bar located in Buckhead in Atlanta offers an International Latin night every first Saturday of the month. Aja is a huge, upscale restaurant and bar, great for a lively party in a smoke-free environment.  The restaurant offers Asian cuisine from sushi to noodle dishes and other entrees.  I’ve eaten there a few times and found the sushi to be unimpressive. However, many of the tapas and entrees were very enjoyable and moderately priced.

Admission is free with complimentary valet parking.  The DJ spins dance music from pop and reggaeton to merengue, salsa and occasionally bachata. The dance area is located in front of the bar with wood floors.  Early in the evening the dance space is limited being near the bar; despite the heavy foot traffic and location by the bar, Aja does a good job of keeping the floor clean enough to make spinning manageable.  As the night goes on, the place is packed and the dance floor is equivalent to a pack of sardines. Luckily once the restaurant’s kitchen closes, the tables are moved to create more dance space. Aja is a fun alternative to the Atlanta club scene with an upscale environment.
