Street Studio Salsa Lounge Roswell Venue Review

Share

Street StudioLatin dance lovers living in the northern suburbs of Atlanta now have a Latin social option in historic Roswell. The Street Studio offers the Salsa Lounge every last Saturday of the month.

The atmosphere of the Street Studio is unique and edgy with a loft-style building and graffiti painted on the walls in a smoke-free environment. There are two dance areas with one large dance floor with great hardwood floors and a side dance room with mostly bachata. The main floor DJ plays primarily salsa music interspersed with bachata and an occasional cha cha.

Admission is $12, which includes a dance class at 8:30 pm and free parking. Jimmy Rumba provides the introductory salsa and bachata class that is advertised to start at 8:30 until 9:30 pm; however, the class does not consistently start and end on time making it a bit frustrating for the early dance bird. This event usually offers some free snacks but there is no official bar or food to order.

The studio usually highlights many live performances ― some that are quite edgy featuring styles of dance offered by the studio. Unfortunately there is very limited seating in the studio making it difficult to watch the lengthy program of performances.

The Street Studio has a friendly staff and we always have a great time dancing there. That is why we keep going back for more!
