Boo Boo’s Montreal adventures with Ryan

Share

I am Boo Boo the Barking Blogster reporting on my first international trip to Montreal.  With my passport and vaccination papers in hand, my family and I drove to Canada to visit my dad’s college friend Bijan and his wife Kathy.  Bijan and Kathy opened their home to us with open arms.  I’ve primarily had experience with adult humans but on this trip I also had an encounter with a human kid, Bijan and Kathy’s son Ryan.   He is seven years old, like me.  However, my age seven is equivalent to 49 human years making keeping up with a high-energy, seven-year-old boy, quite the challenge.

I have to admit that I was not always the most friendly.  I have a bit of a shy side and get nervous around people I do not know.  To compensate for my nervous phobias, I become a bit possessed and out of nowhere, in a split second, I will nip.  I don’t use teeth or actually bite but I almost unconsciously want to scare away the humans.  Remarkably, despite a few nips, Ryan showered me with unconditional love.

Ryan was the most kind, helpful and organized kid.  Every morning Ryan promptly woke up by 7:30 am to let me go outside.  He even proudly picked up my poo with no complaints! Then he brought me water and food.  After breakfast he very thoughtfully walked and ran me through the neighborhood giving me proper commands and control.  In between our vigorous walks, he rubbed my belly and gave me treats.  Ryan is only seven years old and is not only very responsible but he is amazingly powerful; he biked 40 miles and still had energy to walk me afterward! I never thought I would have a boy but now I found one in my pal Ryan.

I found a lot of love in Montreal.  From the restaurants waiters that brought me water and the local residents who stopped to tell me how handsome I am, to my new Canadian family, I had a wonderful experience.  I hope to go back to Montreal again next summer and hang out with my boy Ryan.  I just hope I can keep up with his unbounded energy!
