In most U.S. households, pets are a proud member of the family. So much so that pets are getting treated more and more like people. I’m an American Hairless Terrier, which requires that I wear clothes to protect my skin from sun and insects during the warm weather months. Thankfully I live in Atlanta, and although I need lots of layers in the winter to keep warm, I don’t have to suffer through snow and ice. Because of my breed, it is very natural for me to wear clothes. I like it! I especially like the attention I receive when I look very handsome in a particular shirt or jacket. The ladies especially like to tell me how adorable I am. Who doesn’t love attention from the ladies?
So this Halloween, why not bring Fido out on the trick or treat trail? There are many fun and fashionable canine Halloween costumes to fit in the family pack. I really enjoyed the reptile designs shown on gizmodo.com. All designs are cut for easy fire hydrant flow, (that is, we can still pee without getting it on the costume).
What do you think? Doggie dinosaur or doggie shark? Humm…doggie tortoise or raptor is also available. I like to give a friendly nip now and again so perhaps the shark would fit my style best. Whatever your family theme may be this Halloween, don’t forget us dogs. Chocolate may be deadly for us to eat; however, we don’t need candy. We simply love being with our family as well as the attention and fun of wandering through the neighborhood dressed as a ghost or goblin too.
