Looking to get Dad on a healthy path this Father’s Day? Introduce him to yoga

Share

yoga for manIf you are a teenager or young adult that wants to introduce your dad to a fun Father’s Day activity that offers a healthy choice, try a yoga class.  Yoga offers many health benefits but can also help improve performance in other sports activities such as golf.

Plan Dad’s day

This Father’s Day instead of preparing a heavy breakfast, provide a light snack such as fresh berries and plain yogurt at least one hour or more before the yoga class.  It’s best not to have a heavy meal before practice.  Hydrate the body with plenty of water and avoid coffees and teas.  Don’t worry Dad, you can work up your appetite during the yoga class and go out for a larger brunch afterward!

Look for a yoga studio that offers gentle yoga or beginner classes.  Atlanta has many wonderful yoga studios such as Peachtree Yoga.  Call ahead to ensure they are open on Father’s Day.  You can rent yoga mats and many studios for a small fee so there is no need to purchase mats unless Dad wants to take up the class on a regular basis.

After yoga class, choose a healthy restaurant for brunch.  In the Sandy Springs area the World Peace Café offers a wonderful brunch in a serene atmosphere that is perfect after a yoga class.
